Welcome to the Latin American Biomechanics Congress 2026!

The Latin American Congress of Biomechanics and the 4th Latin American Meeting of Biomechanics will take place on the following days

April 9 and 10, 2026 in San José, Costa Rica, and will bring together professionals, researchers, teachers and students interested in the science of human movement and its applications in health, sports and technology not only from Latin America but also from other regions of the world.

This congress is conceived as a space for meeting, knowledge exchange and applied transfer, oriented both to the discussion of scientific advances and to the practical use of biomechanics in real contexts.

Through keynote talks, oral presentations, and scientific posters, cutting-edge topics related to human movement assessment, physical performance, rehabilitation, ergonomics, robotics, and human-technology interaction will be addressed.


In addition, the congress will feature specialized hands-on workshops, led directly by specialists from manufacturers and representatives of equipment considered the gold standard in biomechanical analysis. These workshops will focus on practical application, technology use, skills acquisition, and direct knowledge transfer to clinical, sports, and ergonomic practice.


Organized by Research & Performance Biomechanics, the congress aims to establish itself as a leading Latin American platform connecting research, professional practice, and technological innovation.

 

Accepted abstracts will be included in the official congress book of abstracts, which will be published digitally and made available to the academic community.

Preliminary Program

The 2026 Latin American Biomechanics Congress will offer a dynamic program combining scientific presentations, practical applications, specialized workshops, professional exchange opportunities, and cultural experiences, designed to give participants a taste of Costa Rica.


The final program will be updated as participant presentations are confirmed. We invite you to submit your abstract and be an active part of the congress, sharing your work with the biomechanics community in Latin America and around the world.


The event will also feature keynote speeches by leading international and regional experts in biomechanics, as well as activities that integrate science, professional practice, and the rich cultural and natural heritage of the host country.
